Dr. Sharpe's Psychiatry Practice in Nashville, TN

I am a Duke University–trained, board-certified psychiatrist in private psychiatry practice in Nashville, TN. I provide psychiatry, psychotherapy, and medication management services for a broad variety of mental health issues including depression, anxiety, bipolar spectrum illnesses, obsessive compulsive disorders (OCD), attention deficit disorders (ADHD), and sleep disorders, as well as other disorders.

Every patient starts with an initial 60-minute evaluation where individual patient needs and treatment goals are established. After the initial evaluation, follow-up appointments are 30 or 45 minutes, depending on individual patient needs and whether psychotherapy is included. Also, with a signed “Release of Information” form, I am happy to collaborate with your current primary care provider and/or therapist to ensure that your mental health treatment is seamless and complete.

I offer comprehensive psychiatric care in a climate where many patients are being reduced to tolerating very long waits and alarmingly brief visits. My goal is to reserve whatever time is necessary to return my patients to an optimal level of functioning in all aspects of their lives. I feel that every patient is unique and deserves an individualized treatment plan; you are treated like a person, not a “unit of healthcare.” You will not be rushed through. Instead, you will be listened to and an appropriate level of treatment will be implemented. I use the BioPsychoSocial model — treating the whole person, considering biological, psychological, and social factors together when formulating the best treatment plan. Therapy can come in many forms which can include psychotherapy, counseling, and medication management. As a Duke-trained psychiatrist, I believe that every person deserves a full evaluation and treatment specific to that person.
